Solid 6th Place at Paragon! 5-17-08
Sorry for the website not being updated here lately, unfortunately we've had bad luck the first couple races and just now finally have something good to talk about! Saturday we drew a 48pill out of 50. So we ended up started dead last in the last heat. In the heat race we got up to 4th place, found out that about half way through the race we had a LF brake caliper go bad which was making the LF brake lockup all the way around the track! We tried to fix it, or just shut off the LF brake but didnt have what we needed to do so. So We started out the feature in 12th... the car was the best its been all year handling wise and we were heading our way towards the front. About 6-7 laps in the LF brake locked up again making the car feel like i was just pushing against a brick wall. I decided to continue racing and the race finally ended under time limit and we wound up in 6th place behind last weeks winner #56 of Tony Walker. I wasn't looking forward to the checkers because i believed we could've pick up another spot or two. But can't complain about a 6th place with the bad luck we've been having.

Shooting for first win, but ended up 4th! - 5-31-08
Paragon Speedway- we had a little better pill draw than before so we lined up 5th in the 3rd heat. On lap one entering the turn the car right in front of me got sideways headed towards the infield so I swerved right to go around him and he over-corrected his car, hitting mine and sandwiching me between two cars... not a good start, the car had some damage but we continued. We had a complete restart and when the green flag dropped within 2 laps we had the lead. The 77 of Jeremy Potts ended up edging us out for the win and we wound up 2nd. For the feature we started 5th. When the green flag dropped, the car was HOOKED. We ended up running in the 3rd position most of the feature.I followed the 77 car for quite some time, I believe our car was faster than his but he was on the very bottom and i just couldn't get my nose under him. With 2 laps to go i tried to pull a move on the outside(still not so experienced on passing on the outside when the track is slick), the car wouldn't stick. I ended up getting passed by a car on the bottom and the checkers flew with us finishing 4th. We had a very good car this weekend, if we could've gotten around the 77 i think we would have had a really good race with the eventual winner #35 of Tony Anderson. After starting the season 13th in points, we have finally moved up thru the field to 5th in points. Just 39 points behind the leader, we will keep trying to cut that lead down week by week and see what happens.

For the 2nd week in a row we drew a 48 out of a possible 50 for the pill draw, how did that happen? So we started last again in the 3rd heat and we ended up running 3rd, we were all over the 2nd place car fighting for the redraw position but couldn't pull it off. We would start the feature off in the 9th position, car seemed like it was pretty fast. We passed a couple cars then got stuck behind a slower car, lap after lap I waited patiently to pass him, finally he slipped up the track and I took the spot. The very next lap the guy ended up hitting my left rear and spinning me out towards the infield. At this point I was beyound mad, it seems everytime i start mid-pack and getting closer to the front we get spun. So we went to the tail of the field to restart, I worked my way back up to prolly 10th/11th, and drove the car in a little to hard trying to get under a car and spun the rear end around. 2 spin rule put me in the pits. Scored me as a 14th.
Another 4th place run at Paragon - 6-21-08
Paragon Speedway- we had the worst pill draw you could have, we drew a 60 which is the highest pill they had so we ended up starting last in our heat race for the 3rd straight week. Started 9th in the 3rd heat race and right off the bat we started pickin them off one by one, finally got up to the fourth position and working to get around Mike Jones when in the corner his car stalled and died and his front bumper ended up going thru our right side door. We had heavy damage to the right side of the car. Luckily they let me continue and we ended up 3rd in the heat. Lined up 8th for feature, at the start of the race going into turn 3 a car spun on the bottom and then another car spun towards the middle of the turn, i couldn't miss them both so i got involved in that wreck but barely was able to keep my car going so i got my spot back for the restart. The entire race was a 4 car shootout, as all 4 of our cars were almost even and if anyone messed I was ready to steal a position away from them. I was able to pull up to the 3rd place car a couple of times but kept getting outrun down the straightaway. It was an exciting night for me, as 4th place wasn't a win but I was running right with some of the fastest guys in the state. Chris Hillman won, Lee Hobbs 2nd, Tony Walker 3rd, and we finished forth. Unfortunately, next week we will be sporting a new right side door as it got too damaged to patch it up. We have now moved from 13th to 4th in points, I am now regretting the 2 bad finishes we had earlier in the year.
Brownstown Toppless night - 6-07-08
Brownstown Speedway - We ended up getting to the track late because I was attending one of my friends weddings. Got there about 15 minutes before hot laps. Unloaded the car and went out. We were the very first heat out, and where we were parked you couldn't here the PA system. Our heat was going out on the track, so i hurried and got out there and made it to turn 2 heading down the back stretch and they gave everyone the green. So I started about a half lap down. Unfortunately we ended up 7th. In the consi, we were in 6th needing to pass one more car but pushed the car a little to far and got the backend around almost spinning out. Lost some positions and ended our night. I really like going to Brownstown, its not far from home. Hopefully in 2009 we will run here more often and become competitive here.
